Welcome to the WU Library! Here are a few tips to help you get started.
Click here for a map to help you locate the library on campus. Once you are in the library, this library floor plan will help you find the section you need.
You will need a library card to use the PC work stations or borrow library materials. To apply for a library card, please come to the circulation desk with your WU student ID if you are a WU student. If you are not enrolled at WU, please bring either a student ID from a different Austrian university or a photo ID and your residence registration form (Meldezettel).
Find out which books you will need for your courses, and note down the author, title, year of publication, and issue. The most important textbooks are listed on the page Standard literature for the introductory phase (German).
The Library’s collection does not include lecture notes and course handouts. These materials are available at the university bookstore Facultas or at the Management Book Service.
Books are organized into three main sections: the textbook collection, the open stacks and the closed stacks. A wide selection of scientific journals are available in the periodicals section. Another part of the Library houses various electronic media, including databases, eBooks and the E-journals to which the Library subscribes.
The Library catalog and other search tools are available to help you locate these materials.
The Library is equipped with PC workstations for literature research, printers, copiers, WLAN, etc.
If you have any further questions on research or on borrowing library materials, the InfoCenter or the circulation desk staff will be happy to help you.
