From the ITNP’s perspective, a modern education in business and economics without any basic knowledge of the interrelations between economics, technology and environment is anachronistic, given today’s widely accepted philosophy of sustainability.
For this reason, relevant courses are already available in the core curriculum (introductory course, 2 semester hours), and students have the opportunity to deal with more advanced aspects in electives, special courses and by gaining additional qualifications (environmental manager, environmental protection officer, auditor, waste management officer, etc.).
The ITNP has already made initial preparations for further development of this area and has prepared a clearly structured, modular system in accordance with Institute resources.
Four electives for the majors Business Administration and Business Education are currently available at the Institute:
In addition to the elective Waste and Resource Management, a training course to qualify as a corporate waste management officer is also available. The restructuring of the electives program and the advanced courses have been very well-received by students.
Institute faculty members are also qualified to supervise seminar papers and Master’s theses in the fields of sustainability, resource economics, total quality management, integrated product management and consumer ecology.
