Webmail FAQ
- My emails are not saved in the "Sent" folder, even though
I have checked the box "Save copy" in "Sent mail".
- In "Webmail" select "Einstellungen"
(Settings) (tool icon in the blue menu bar)
- Select "Persönliche Angaben" (Personal Information)
- Select the identity for which you wish to change settings
- Check "Gesendete Nachrichten Speichern" (Save sent
messages) (at the bottom of the page).
- Select the Folder where messages should be saved.
- Select "Einstellungen speichern" (Save settings).
- When I delete messages, I receive the error message "Der Ordner
"Trash" konnte nicht erstellt werden. Meldung des Email-Servers:
Permission denied" (Trash folder could not be found Server message:
Permission denied)
- In "Webmail" select "Einstellungen"
(Settings) (tool icon in the blue menu bar)
- Select "Nachrichten löschen und verschieben" (delete
and move messages).
- Select Trash folder. Your Trash folder settings may be wrong.
Please use the "Trash" folder in your Inbox.
- How can I automatically delete emails identified as spam?

- When I delete messages, my available storage space stays the same.
How can I free up storage space?
There are 2 possible explanations:

Emails are moved to a different folder (usually the
"Trash" folder), but not deleted.
- In "Webmail" select "Einstellungen"
(Settings) (tool icon in the blue menu bar)
- Go to "Nachrichten Löschen 2. und Verschieben" (Delete messages 2. and move messages)
- You should find the following option: "Beim Löschen von
Nachrichten diese in den Papierkorb verschieben, anstatt sie als gelöscht zu
markieren?" (Move deleted messages to Trash folder instead of marking them
as deleted?) If this box is checked, messages are moved to the folder below.
- Delete all messages in this folder.

Messages are marked as deleted, but not removed from the server.
In order to see how many emails in your Mailbox are marked as
deleted, select "Zeige gelöschte" (Show deleted messages) (top
right). To delete these messages from the server, click "Endgültig
löschen" (Delete message completely)
THE FOLLOWING IS FOR WU EMPLOYEES ONLY:
(Students cannot have a
WU email address in the form of "firstname.lastname@wu-wien.ac.at" )
- When I send emails, the recipient does not see my email address as
"firstname.lastname@wu-wien.ac.at", but rather as
"username@wu-wien.ac.at".
- In "Webmail" select "Einstellungen"
(Settings) (tool icon in the blue
menu bar)
- Select "Persönliche Angaben" (Personal Information)
- Select the identity for which you wish to change settings
- Enter the email address you wish to use in "Ihre Von:
Adresse: " (your From: address)
