The reserved time slot must include the time needed for setting up,
taking down and bringing equipment back to the Information Center. Please make
reservations for the equipment you need on time, especially at the end of each
semester, when there is a high demand for equipment.
PLEASE NOTE:
Before making a reservation, please check if the auditorium/class room of your class is equipped with the media you need. Particularly the auditoriums H 0.1 – H 0.7 as well as the Audimax have permanently installed data projectors. For a detailed list of permanent equipment in lecture halls and classrooms, contact Facility Management.
Borrowing multimedia equipment is free of charge. This service is available to all WU students enrolled in the current semester as well as WU staff members. Equipment is to be used exclusively in courses offered by WU. Students borrowing equipment must have registered for the course. The time reserved must correspond to the time and date of the course. Private and non-academic use of equipment (especially for commercial purposes) is prohibited.
Equipment may not be borrowed for longer periods of time or
overnight, unless there is a plausible reason (e.g. classes held in the evening
or on weekends).
All reserved equipment can be picked up at the porter' lodge and must be returned at the time specified in the contract. Passing
on equipment directly to students or staff who have a reservation following
yours is prohibited. If students or staff members are unable to return
equipment on time, they must return it as soon as possible and are required to
call - depending on the place of issue: (01)31336/3000 for UZA1 - Information Center, (01)31336/4500 for UZA1 porter's lodge, (01)31336/4000 for UZA3, (01)31336/5100 for UZA4.
All equipment is inspected to verify that all components are present. Equipment must be returned with all components (protective caps, power supply units, connecting cables, etc.).
The borrower is liable for all equipment damages and resulting damages for IT Services and those who had later reservations to borrow the equipment in question. This applies especially if
(1) equipment is returned late or incomplete, (2) equipment is used for other purposes or in other places than those specified in the contract, (3) equipment is used by / passed on to other parties, (4) is stored or transported improperly, (5) instructions specified in user manuals / short descriptions are disregarded, (6) equipment shows signs of excessive wear, (7) equipment is damaged intentionally or due to negligence damage (incl. scratches on cases, lenses and/or screens), (8) equipment or accessory is stolen or gets lost. In this case we charge a flat-rate value of EUR 750 for videobeamers and laptops and a flat-rate value of EUR 50 for accessories.
The installation of software or changes of BIOS settings on laptops is prohibited. If you require a certain software setting for your presentation, please consult one of the Information Center’s staff members. Video projectors must not be moved during use, because this can lead to the damaging of the projector lamp and can severely decrease its endurance. After use, projectors must be allowed to cool down for at least 5 minutes before being moved.
All further regulations are noted in the lending contract. Please note that we reserve the right to randomly test if the equipment borrowed is used according to the purpose specified in the contract and that breaches of the Rules of Use will be sanctioned with a 1 semester ban from borrowing equipment (in addition to any legal claims).
