Please note that unencrypted file transfer (via FTP) is no longer possible and encryption is now mandatory. This especially regards web page transfer to the server. Since many of the widely used web publishing tools (e.g. Microsoft FrontPage, Netscape Composer, early versions of Macromedia Dreamweaver) do NOT support encrypted file transfer, we recommend transfer via WinSCP. It has a graphical user interface to facilitate file upload and administration of the home directory.
To install and use the program, please follow these steps:
1. Download the program
Download the "Installation package" from the WinSCP project’s website at http://winscp.net/eng/download.php
Alternatively, you can also download a stand-alone version of WinSCP. The stand-alone version of the program does not require installation and can be used as a portable application, i.e. it can be run for instance from a USB stick.

In the right panel, the remote server’s home directory is displayed. Change to the directory to which you want to transfer the files. Your website, for instance, is stored in the "public_html" directory.
