The IT Services Information Center
is the first point of contact for WU staff and students for questions and
support. This is where Help Desk and Hotline requests are answered, and in most
cases, immediately handled by the Information Center staff. Problems that
cannot be solved right away and require a more complex analysis are forwarded
to the appropriate specialists. The Center’s main responsibilities are
maintaining WU’s LAN network, course administration and publishing.
The Service Center for Course Administration (Servicestelle für LV-Administration) and the Service Center for the Internet (WWW-Servicestelle) form part of the Information Center. You can also borrow IT equipment for use in class or for presentations at WU, and purchase lecture scripts. Furthermore, the Information Center offers student courses on using PowerNet (email, Internet, etc.), text processing (MS Word), using presentation programs (PowerPoint) and creating websites (web design/HTML).
