Our Mission Statement

IOER

The Institute for Austrian and European Public Law (formerly known as Institute for Constitutional Law and Administrative Law) can lay claim to having established the foundations for recent research in the field of constitutional law and administrative law in Austria, and to having decisively shaped these research areas with a view to their relevance to the economy. This focus in research, which was already adopted during Karl Korinek’s and Heinz Peter Rill’s time at the helm of the Institute, continues to be of utmost relevance under current chairs Christoph Grabenwarter, Michael Holoubek, H. René Laurer, Georg Lienbacher, and their staff. In addition to pursuing continuity in research, they and their teams strive to more precisely define, adjust and further develop the Institute’s research profile. The “Europeanization” of Austrian constitutional law and administrative law in the domain of the economy has become a main focus of the research carried out at the Institute, which is also reflected in the Institute’s new name.
