Position at IIB, other positions and academic career

Benjamin Schoenung is a research and teaching assistant at the Institute for International Business.

Prior to his employment at WU, Benjamin was an intern with a consultancy firm in Stuttgart, Germany. While in the US, he was working for an international investment bank where his duties included fundraising and due diligence reports. After high school, Benjamin spent 3 years in the German Federal Armed Forces where he was a member of the Force Protection Unit.

He holds a Master of Science in Insurance and Risk Management (Merit) from Cass Business School, London. Before that Benjamin earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance from Western Washington University, USA.

Research Interest

His research focuses on international strategy. In this broad field, he is especially interested in the ongoing debate on globalization vs. regionalization trends. Furthermore, he examines the impact of group composition on group outcomes.
