Jonas Puck is Head of the Institute for International Business and Full Professor at the WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. In addition, he is Academic Director of the MBA in Energy Management at the WU Executiv Academy. He previously held positions at Nuremberg University, Germany, the University of New South Wales, Australia, the University of International Business and Education, China and the Bradford University School of Management, UK. He earned a Dipl.-Kfm., a PhD in International Management and and postdoctoral qualification (Habilitation) from Nuremberg University.
In addition to his work at University, he is co-founder and scientific advisor of Global Management Competence, a consulting firm focusing on strategic consulting and training development for multinational firms. Jonas received awards for outstanding teaching as well as outstanding research (e.g. EIBA Fellows Research Award 2008, Ludwig Erhard Award 2008, AIB Best Reviewer Award 2009, Festo Fellow Award 2010).
His current research interests are strategies in emerging markets,
investments in high risk countries, expatriation, diverse teams, and migrants
as facilitators of internationalization. Jonas serves on the Editorial Board of
the European Journal of Cross Cultural Competence and Management. His research
has been published in journals such as the Journal
of International Business Studies, Journal of International Management, Long
Range Planning, International Business Review and the International Journal of Human Resource Management, among others.
In addition, he is the author of four books and numerous book chapters.
