Position at IIB, other positions and academic career

Markus Hödl is a research and teaching assistant at the Institute for International Business. Markus studied International Business Administration at the WU Vienna and ESSCA Angers in France, specializing in strategic management & management control and international finance. Additionally, he completed the CEMS Master in International Management at the University of St. Gallen and WU Vienna.

Markus gained professional experience by doing internships at UNIQA and Siemens Austria. Moreover, he worked for the Austrian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and Accenture Switzerland.

Research Interest

Among his research interests are Internationalization processes of Austrian firms in Central- and Eastern Europe, headquarter-subsidiary relations, and the choice of entry mode from a Transaction-Cost Perspective.
