Barbara Brenner is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for International Business. She has previously worked as a research and teaching assistant at the Research Institute for European Affairs at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (WU) and as an instructor for international management at the University of Applied Sciences WIFI. She has taught a variety of classes including Global Strategic Management, Microeconomics of Competitiveness, Foreign Direct Investment, Transnational Management, Global Marketing Research, Cross-cultural Management, Research in Business and Economics, and European Integration.
She studied Business Administration at the WU-Vienna (WU), the University of Technology in Sydney (UTS) and worked as a research fellow at the University of Illinois (UIUC). She holds an MA degree in international business and a PhD from the WU-Vienna. She gained first-hand professional experience by working in finance and consulting for Bank Austria and as a trainer for intercultural communication and management for various multinational companies. During her academic career she has worked with several multinational corporations on case studies, research and consulting projects.
Barbara Brenners’ current research evolves around the MNC and concerns strategic management and control, headquarters- subsidiary relations, regional headquarters, cross-cultural management, and innovation within multinational companies.
