Prof. Caren Sureth

Prof. Caren Sureth holds a chair in Business Administration, especially Business Taxation, at the University of Paderborn. Furthermore, she is professorial member of Board of the accounting research committee of the German Economic Association, American Accounting Association, European Accounting Association and member and president of German Academic Association for Business Research (until 2012). Caren Sureth is also a member of the editorial board of many leading journals in Business Administration, such as Business Research, Review of Managerial Science and Business Administration Review (DBW). Currently, her research interests are business taxation and finance, international taxation, investment decisions and taxes and tax accounting. She deals with the topic international taxation and examines European group taxation and asymmetric taxation in multinational groups. Moreover, she analyses impact of taxation on investment decisions under uncertainty and on cross-border investment. Within the Doctoral Programm, Caren Sureth, will encourage and support young researchers to contribute to the research in the Determination of Taxable Profit (research area 1) and International Coordination of Business Taxation (research area 4). By her involvement in the research areas 1 and 4, the doctoral students will benefit best from her outstanding expertise and know-how in tax accounting, impact of taxation on investment decisions and international business taxation.
