Research Support

WU’s Research Service Center aims at servicing WU researchers and at increasing the share of external funds from Austrian and European agencies. The Center runs a research database as well as a grants database and supports decision-making and strategic planning through data on research at WU. Services include the administration, promotion, documentation, and evaluation of research:

In order to promote research at WU, the Research Service Center provides information about Austrian and international research programs, scholarships and awards. Researchers can look up research support programs in an up-to-date online database. They can also benefit from individual consulting on funding research and applying for grants. Seed funding (Anbahnungsfinanzierung) is available for WU researchers to develop larger research proposals.

The Research Service Center organizes information sessions for WU researchers and maintains WU’s web-based portal for research.

With the FIDES research database (Forschungs-Informations-Dokumentations-Evaluations-System), the Center manages a research information system for collecting and systematically documenting research performance of WU’s faculty. This information is included in the Annual Reports.

Regarding WU’s research evaluations, the Center is responsible for planning and organizing evaluation schemes at the Departments.
