Foreign Language Services

Grants for foreign language services (translation, proofreading, etc.) are financed by third-party funds of the Vice-Rector for Research, International Affairs and External Relations. Currently, about EUR 7,500 are provided for each quarter. All applications submitted correctly according to the relevant guidelines will be given equal priority and, as far as possible, supported in full. However, cuts will be made if the sum of eligible applications exceeds the funds available.

Applications that do not conform to guidelines or show serious formal defects are not eligible for funding. However, authors have the option of correcting serious defects and re-submitting. Applications re-submitted after the applications for the respective quarter have been processed will be automatically postponed to the next quarter.

Please note: At the beginning of the first quarter of 2008, funding of articles published in non-German-language periodicals was limited to journals included in the WU journal rating and department journal ratings available in the Rector’s Office here on this page (download).
