Research Awards

Based on an internal agreement with the academic staff union (Betriebsvereinbarung), WU has a clear bonus model in place. For successful publications in A+ journals (based on WU’s journal rating), authors/researchers are awarded a bonus of € 3,000. For articles in internationally highly respected journals, a bonus of € 1,000 is paid. Project leaders receive 2% of raised research funds, provided the allocation of funds has been based on a competitive international peer review.

The WU Best Paper Award is the highest prize granted for successful publications in international top journals in the German-speaking world.

The Stephan Koren-Preis is granted for the best doctoral thesis at WU.
