WU is proud to honor outstanding performance in teaching and research in various ways. Awards serve to encourage top performance and provide incentives to improve quality in both teaching and research. Teaching Awards

Innovative Teaching Award
Innovative teaching particularly innovative course designs and teaching projects are awarded once a year.

Excellence in Teaching Award
The Excellence in Teaching Award goes out annually to instructors of outstanding courses. Particular emphasis is placed on the support and encouragement of newer faculty members, who have their own award category, “Young Faculty”.

eTeaching Award
The award honors individuals or groups of WU staff who show exceptional commitment and continued initiative in furthering eLearning and eTeaching at WU.

Research Awards

Performance Bonus
Performance bonuses are awarded for the publication of top journal articles in internationally respected magazines and third-party funds raised for research projects.

WU Vienna Best Paper Award
The WU Vienna Best Paper Award honors the best journal publication.

Stephan Koren Prize
The Stephan Koren Prize is awarded for the best dissertation in a given year.
